It’s a bit unreal that I’ve spent 6 months doing this.

I’ve gotten a bit more confident in the practice and I think I can say I can now sit with support. #Ifyouknowyouknow.

Very soon I’d be crawling then walking, then running. All in good time.

Last month was a bit better for me.

The work didn’t reduce but somehow I was able to manage things better.

I spent the last 3 months in Neonatology, and honestly, after this posting, I can’t fully say that it’s still what I’d like to sub-specialise in.

It wasn’t at all as I expected it to be.

I’m still trying to keep an open mind as I’m going through all the postings and I’m sure with time, I’d figure out my home base.

I’m now done with the Neonatology posting and guess where I’m being sent to next?

*Drum rolls please*

Children Emergency Unit.

*I’m krying*

It’s allegedly a very tough and rugged posting. Plenty of work, plenty of clinical presentations, plenty of studying.

I don’t know why, but I’m a bit more optimistic about it than I was before.

I was mentally stressed just thinking about it.

I want to believe it won’t be as bad as I think and I just might end up having fun.

Welp, fingers crossed.

Oh and by the way..

Happy New Year!

I intend to be cliche by saying that I’m going to be a new and better person this year.

I started off on the right note. Wrote down plans and how to accomplish them, my mindset has also taken a switch. I’m focusing on the positives and the things I have control over.

I’m excited for 2024, excited for the remaining months in this residency journey and I’m hopeful that things would be better.

I hope you have a great 2024 as well!
