This is a culture shock for me
I’m not used to being loved
The care, the attention, the words of affirmation, the gifts
It’s all too much for me to handle
It’s weird
You think I’m beautiful?
Really?
This is news to me
I’ve grown up seeing how toxic humans can be
I’ve been hurt more times than I can count
So I don’t know what it’s like to be loved
I barely love myself
So I cannot love you
